LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 9.2 FEET, 60’S, CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair. A lot will change over this week with the cold weather. Once the weather settlers the fishing will be better but expect the fish will move deeper so water temperatures will be critical. Find the warmer waters. Start the day with a green jig and pig combination on any sunny rocky point.
Once it warms up go to 10 pound line and use a small bright Rebel Deep Wee R or a Rapala #5 Shad Rap crank baits on rocky points and sandy banks and again, use light line to get the baits deeper. Watch water temperatures and find the warmer waters. Try a .6 Flex It spoon in white or chartreuse prism on 12 to 14 pound test Sufix Elite line. Fishing line should be easily visible to help see the bites as the spoon is falling vertically. Use the Lowrance 200 kHz frequency and drop the spoon right under the transducer all the way to the bottom. Use short hops, not big jerks. You can watch the fish hit the spoon. On the worm rigs, use a brass and glass combination and a Texas rigged Zoom green or natural blue worm. Cast them on top of brush piles in 20 to 30 feet of water. Stay in the contact with the brush and use a live night crawler. Use a small silver spoon afternoons on the brush piles and on points. The Float N Fly combination will now set up well for the rest of the cold weather.

Line side fishing is good. Bass fishing is fair. A lot will change over this week with the cold weather. Once the weather settlers the fishing will be better but expect the fish will move deeper so water temperatures will be critical. Find the warmer waters. The recent Super Moon has gotten the big girls up and active. Flat lines and Planner Boards are working very well right at sun and then again at sun down. Medium to large gizzard shad and thread fins are all working well. The north end of the lake is the place to be right now. We have caught decent fish from Kellogg Creek north to Little River. After the sun comes up try down lining off any main lake point. First Bite Gift Certificates are now available. Call for Details 770 827 6282.
