LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 8.4 FEET, CLEAR, 50’S


Bass fishing is fair. We are focusing our efforts mainly in the Tugaloo River arms from Payne's Creek all the way to Eastanollee Creek. The shallow bite for us has really slowed down with the cooling water temperatures. We have been catching them on crank baits and jigs however the size of these fish have not been that big. We have been putting a lot of time looking in the ditches in the main creek channel arms they key for this as always is the bait if you don't see it move on to the next one. The majority of the bait we have found has been in 30 plus feet of water along with the fish we have found. The best baits for this have been a spoon, jig, shakey head, drop shot, and underspin with a small paddle tale swimbait as a trailer. Again the key has been the bait when you find it fish that area but don't spend too long doing so. If we didn't get bit within the first 10 to 15 minutes we moved on to the next area. We are looking at another very cold weather front to come through this week. Air temperatures are going to drop fast and this will bring very high pressure to the south. Fish will be very inactive with this weather.
