LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 14.8 FEET, 40’S, CLEAR
We have another very cold weather front this week. Air temperatures are very cold and the fish will react to the weather by not feeding and relating the heavy structure with the very cold temperatures and high pressure. Any warm water you can find can have active bass. They still have to eat.
Bass fishing is slow. Go up the creeks down lake and the bass are tight on ledges and off the points and deep in heavy cover. Working dark worms and jigs is the best tactic. Stay on the heavy brush on points and docks on the lake. Use the Rattle Back black and blue or all black 1/2 ounce jig and a larger Pro Pork Trailer by Uncle Josh. Look on very tight cover or stumps and bass are slow to react to lures and live bait. Spoons are great all day baits and the Lowrance Sonar can help you find them. Use the 200 kHz and the 455 Down beams and this Down beam is much wider and a lot more powerful. You can see the bass on the bottom, so drop the bait to them. Work the large worms and a Gilraker black and chartreuse tail on a Texas rig. Use a larger brown crawfish jig and pig on the river ledges and on points.
