WEISS LAKE IS AT 5 FEET 11 INCHES BELOW FULL POOL AND CLEAR AND 43 45 DEGREE'S

Bass fishing is slow and the lake is very low. The bass are very slow to bite due to the cold water temperatures. Look for schools of shad in the mouth of the coves and fish a Flex It spoon on 10 pound test line. The better bite is coming as the sun warms up the rocks around the river bends and on rocky points down lake. In those areas, fish a ľ ounce Rat L Trap in silver and black. Fish the bait using a slow retrieve and let it fall as you move it away from the bank. The bites are light so watch your line. Spoons are great all day baits and the Lowrance Sonar can help you find them. Use the 200 kHz and the 455 Down beams and this Down beam is much wider and a lot more powerful. You can see the bass on the bottom, so drop the bait to them. A drop shot rig can work but be sure to keep the line tight so the baits hang out over the brush so the fish can see it. We have another very cold weather front this week. Air temperatures are very cold and the fish will react to the weather by not feeding and relating the heavy structure with the very cold temperatures and high pressure. Any warm water you can find can have active bass. They still have to eat.

Hammonds Fishing Centers, Cumming Georgia manager Tim Hawkins has 7 great products to help knock down some cold weather. Gill Simms Jackets for $299.00 and Gill for $199.00 Bibs, Gill waterproof gloves for $44.99, Gill Performance Fishing Gloves for $25.00, Simms Beanies for $29.00 and Gill Face Shields from $29.00 to $32.00.
