  • Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 1/13/18

After a week of extremely cold weather, ice gathering in the back waters and main river water temperatures in the high 30ís we struggled getting a bite. As is always the case during the coldest part of the winter getting your customer to stay focused when its kind of boring and there are just a few bites is a challenge. Misses mount up because your opportunities are limited.

We fished with several of my favorite winter baits, spinner baits, swim jigs and rattle baits were a good sampling. We slowed rolled the Punisher Spinner baits, yo-yo the SPRO rattle baits over grass and slow rolled Tight-Line swim jigs ticking the bottom looking for that winter bite.

The results were a few bites, with pretty-typical results for winter time fishing. We also dragged Tight-Line football jigs on the bottom along with Picasso Shock Wave chatter baits. Generally, this tough winter weather subsides by the middle of this month and we will get better weather every day after. Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water. Itís time now to book your 2018 fishing dates my group of guides are the best on the lake; we love our customers and enjoy everyday with you.
