  • Lake Hartwell Fishing Report - GA

LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 8.4 FEET, CLEAR, 50’S

We have another very cold weather front this week. Air temperatures are very cold and the fish will react to the weather by not feeding and relating the heavy structure with the very cold temperatures and high pressure. Any warm water you can find can have active bass. They still have to eat.

This bass fishing report is by Josh Panyard 404 723 4265

Bass fishing is slow. The majority of the bait we have found has been in 30 plus feet of water along with the fish we have found. Look for fish to be either in the ditches or around the channel swings. The best baits for this have been a spoon, jig, shakey head, drop shot, and underspin with a small paddle tale swimbait as a trailer. Again the key has been the bait when you find it fish that area but don't spend too long doing so. If we didn't get bit within the first 10 to 15 minutes we moved on to the next area. The lake is still low and there are a lot of objects sticking up out of the water and not marked so be safe out there and we hope to see you on the water.
