Lake Cumberland fishing report for feb 23 rd 2018. The recent rains has the lake up pretty high with some floating debris. The water temp at the lower end of the lake is about 50 degrees mid creek and a little cloudy. I’m sure all the creeks have a distinct mud line in them. It is real common for that to be the best place to find small groups of stripers feeding. Pulling planer boards is my favorite technique this time of year. Yes it can be aggravating with the floating debris but it can be rewarding. I will start with rods from 20 ft to the surface and gradually fish deeper as the morning goes on.
The river has been producing some nice trout fishing the boils with dead shad or minnows. This technique will stay good almost all spring as long as we have plenty of water flowing.

My hunting season is officially over and I look forward to getting back on the water. Hope to see you on the water this spring.
