LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 1.4 FEET, 60’S, CLEAR


Bass fishing is great with a mix bag of spots and largemouth on bed. Still a few pre spawn and a few post spawn. Moving baits seem to be the deal right now. The Picasso Suijin tipped with a big bite 4 inch white jerk minnow fished on rip rap and rock banks. I’m fishing the Suijin on 10lb Sunline Fluorocarbon and a low speed bait caster and cranking rod. There is also a good Weightless Big Bite Jerk minnow pattern. The key is run and gun. There is also a top water bite and I think it will only get better later this month and next. The Ima bait top water, Spro dawg and Zara spook are the way to go. Have fun!!

Line side fishing is good. The lake bite is going strong as well as the river bite. The fish up the river re eating just about everything from threadfins to gizzard shad to bream and even cut bait. The fish on the main lake are feeding like it's a summer pattern. The down rod bite is the most productive bite going on the lake right now. Fishing live shad at depths from 20 to 30 feet is producing for our boats from one end of the lake to the other. Big schools of hybrids can be found anywhere from the S turns to as far south as Tanyard Creek. Our bait of choice has been big thread fins and small gizzard shad. Bait can be a little tough to catch right now. But no worries the guys at Striper Soup has plenty in stock. These fish can be found on your Lowrance on or around most points, humps and flats. Good electronics can be a big help during the spring. Spring time is awesome for numbers on Lake Allatoona. Most days we are catching between 20 to 50 fish.
