LAKE SEMINOLE IS FULL, CLEAR & 70’S

This Bass fishing report is from Matt Baty.

Bass fishing is good. The bass are biting really well on the lake right now. Shallow grass beds seem to be the ticket right now as the shad spawn is over and the bass are targeting bluegills. There are several different techniques that will work depending on the type of fishing you like to do. A hollow body frog works well with an 8:3:1 Lews Custom Pro, 7'3" Buddha Stick Heavy Fast Action, and Sunline 50lb FX2 braid. Look for sandy areas with pepper grass and scum present as the bream will use this to spawn around. The frog bite is really good early in the morning and in the middle of the day as well. Another good technique is to swim a worm on the edge of coontail and hydrilla beds. A good worm to swim is a 6" Big Bite Baits Kriet Tail Worm in Green Pumpkin or Red Bug. For this technique use a 3/16 ounce Jenko Creature Weight in Green Color, a 4/0 VMC Worm Hook, and 16 pound test Sunline FC Sniper. A little chartreuse spray on the tail makes it look more like a bream. These 2 patterns are working right now but as the weather continues to warm and we keep getting rain and current look for the bass to start moving out to river ledges and deep grass lines in spring creek. Then it will be time to put the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan to use to locate schools of giant largemouth.

The new Lowrance FishReveal software for the Gen 3, Elite Ti and CARBON machines makes spotting the fish on the DOWN SCAN super easy. The software is free on the Lowrance web site.
