Bass fishing is fair. Use a buzz bait in the white or white and chartreuse color and work around the grass beds. Also, use a ¼ ounce chrome/black Rat L Trap in this same area once the top water bite has slowed. After the morning bite back off to the long points and use a Carolina rigged Zoom finesse or u tail worm. Fish the grass early and it's just a matter of finding the right stretch of bank. Stretches located near deeper water were the key this weekend, but things are changing very quickly. Schooling action is picking up around the flats at Creek town. Using 12 pound Sufix Siege line with a 24 to 36 inch leader with Carolina Keeper and a ½ ounce weight seems to work best. Fish this bait on the long points out 15 to 18 feet deep. Use Zooms green pumpkin, watermelon and watermelon candy. Look for presents of shad along the bank and points. Scan the area for bait schools with the Lowrance Structure Scan technology. The more bait in the areas the chances go way up the bass will be close by. Fish any areas where you see bait fish breaking the surface. The points in the middle of the lake are producing a good number of fish. If the day is overcast don’t overlook fishing a black Spro frog.
