LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 80’S, CLEAR

Spotted bass fishing is fair. The spots are everywhere and there is no depth that they are holding at. Look for these fish on main lake points and humps. The spots are chasing a fast bait early like the 3/8 ounce spinnerbait in white with double willow leaf blades reeled very fast. Mid to late morning change up to any top water and change back to a spinnerbait like the Ledge buster in 1 1/2 ounce or 2 ounce, black and slow roll it over the points, main lake humps and flat sandy and rocky areas. With the introduction of the blue back hearing the spots are on a summer time pattern but shallow, suspending in 8 to 12 feet of water and are moving up to hit on the surface during mid-day hours when at that time during day they should be deep.

Line side fishing is great. The fishing is the same as the summer pattern is in full swing. That means it is time for down lines, umbrella rigs and down riggers. Shad are very hard to keep a live so carry two dozen shiners when you head to the water. The south end of the lake is by far the best bite on the lake. Live bait fished off of any main lake point right now will get you bit. Also the humps in the mouth of all the main creeks are holding fish right now. There is also a good evening bite at the dam. The trolling bite is great for big fish. Pulling umbrella rigs near the mouth of Stamp Creek is good.
This summer is a great time to learn how to use your Electronics, so call 770 889 2654 to set a date.
