LAKE GEORGE IS 1.52 FEET OVER FULL, 80’S

Bass fishing is fair. The fish are really moving a lot daily and it is a hunting game daily. The only consistent bite has been an early and late top water bite along main lake grass beds. Fish have been holding around the points in these grass beds as well as any isolated clumps. They have been biting a variety of baits such as a Spro hydro pop and a black Picasso buzz bait. When the sun gets up the deeper ledge bite in the 20 to 25 foot range on the Northern end has been the most consistent. The bait on the northern end of lake is finally starting to ball up pretty good, making the crank bait bite a little bit better. Look for any bait flicking on the surface and idle around the ledge to find where the baitfish and fish are located on the ledge. Try working these balls of bait with a Stanford lures Razor shad on the shallower ledges and a Mann's 20+ on the deeper ledges. The ledges that have standing timber or rocks have been more consistent than just the bare ledges. The key is to throw your crank bait as far up on the ledge as you can and let it make as much contact with as much timber or rocks as you can before you rip it off the ledge. Now is a great time to ride the lake and scan the points, humps and ledges with the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology. Now anglers and spend less time searching and more time catching once this technology unlock the lakes secret. If you choose to fish down south, fish the deepest brush piles that you can find. The best bite that have found on the southern end has been in any brush or rocks in the 30 to 35 foot range. Fish a Big Bite Baits Kriet Tail worm in Green pumpkin with a one ounce Tru Tungsten weight. Just fish this bait really slow and when you hit any brush dead stick the bait. The bite has been really soft due to these fish being very inactive. There has also been some sparse schooling action throughout the day, so always have a Spro Dawg 100 or a pearl Big Bite Baits jerk minnow tied on. With the rains coming this week look for the shallow bite to turn on. Try fishing back in the grass with a Spro Bronzeye frog in natural red or a Big Bite Baits top toad in green pumpkin along the thick grass edges. Also try flipping a Big Bite Baits Yakama along the main lake grass beds. Just remember that it only takes a foot difference in depth to be catching fish or not getting bit.
