As School nears, our business slows each year and we're on the Lake only several days a week. This was the case this past week as I fished only four trips and Adam's two trips on Friday & Saturday were cancelled. I started the week with a Dad & Son Combo on Monday and we had an AWESOME day with a 50 fish limit of White Bass and several nice Hybrid Stripers. Wednesday's trip was just the opposite as two Guys met up from Houston and Dallas and we fished hard and long for just 20 fish. Same conditions as Monday, but the fishing was just slow! Then on Friday and Saturday the rains came and a couple of our Customers cancelled. The folks I fished with were from Nebraska and were scheduled for two days of fishing. They had nothing else planned so we waited out the rain on Friday and got on the Lake around 1:30PM. The fish turned on late afternoon and we filled the Ice Chest with 45 White Bass, a couple of Catfish and a Crappie.! We woke up to more rain on Saturday, did a delayed start and then had the toughest fishing trip of the Summer as we fished four hours for 5 fish!!! 😞


Almost all our fish came on Slabs this past week with only Monday having any Top Water action. We covered a lot of water, burned a whole lot of gas and on three of the four trips caught more than enough for a nice fish fry! Summertime fishing is sometimes just not predictable, but we always remain optimistic, fish hard and are usually rewarded with a box of fish even on the tough days!
