What a great week we just had as we experienced some nice Rain Showers, Temperatures never made it into the triple digits, the hint of Fall was in the air and the fish bit pretty good too!!! 😊 Fishing for the White Bass can sometimes be tough in September as we transition from Summer to Fall. We experienced a bit of this on my Monday & Adam's Saturday trip as the Whites were difficult to find, but in both cases we eventually found some on Points and Humps in 20' feet of water that would bite. And we also experienced a late, late morning Top Water bite on the Main Lake as fish were schooling on the surface at almost the middle of the day. You just never know when or where you might find the best bite this time of year!


We had no problem catching LOTS of fish on my Tuesday and Saturday trips because we fished for Catfish! When the White Bass fishing does slow, we often fish for Catfish. I baited out a couple of spots around Hickey Island with Sour Maize and Range Cubes and the Channel Cats showed up. On both trips we had an almost full Ice Chest of "Eater Size" Channel and Blue Cats. Danny Kings Punch Bait on a #4 Treble Hook fished near the bottom was the key to success. Most fish were caught in 10'-20' feet of water near timber.
