  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 4.57 FEET, 80S, CLEAR

Bass fishing is slow. The bite has been tough all week and the full moon is right around the corner. The soft jerk baits like the big bite 5 inch jerk minnow and Zoom Flukes is the ticket. Fish the baits slowly and even if the fish on the Lowrance, they are not feeding well. Fish the drop shot around brush in 15 to 30 feet of water. Fish are still holding on the outside edge. Soon the crank bite should start up but rain is needed state wide. Keep a Pop R or a small Zara Spook ready “if” the fish schools pop up. Just do not expect a lot of bites.

The line side report is from Robert Eidson, first Bite Guide Service.

Line side fishing is good. The bite is surprising good for this time of year. The fish are starting to move north and can be caught from Clear Creek to the Delta. There are still plenty of fish on the south end but its a very early bite. The mouths of Clark Creek and Tanyard Crekare holding some decent school. But you better be there early that bite is over by 730am. The flats on the north end of the lake seems to be holding more fish than the flats mid lake. But the fish we are catching in the mid section of the lake seem to be bigger. Down lining shad has been working best for us. The numbers are know where near what they were just four weeks ago. But if you're in the right place at the right time boating 20 plus fish can be had in a very short time. Trolling is decent. The key to catching these fish is to bottom bump your umbrella rigs on flats with at 18 to 20 foot bottom. The top water bite can be great at times. The better bite seems to be at sun up and again at sun down. Some day's these schools will stay up and active for an hour.
