  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 5.56 FEET, 80S, CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair. The bite has been the best early and late in the day. A spinner bait in white or chartreuse has been produced some fish around blow downs and brush piles in 10 to 15 feet of water. Spybait’s have been working well and it will need to be used on a spinning reel and 6 pound test Bass Pro Shops fluorocarbon line. Fishing rocky banks with a Carolina rigged watermelon seed or pumpkinseed finesse worm or a jig n pig in the same color has been the better method. Main points are still producing using a Deep Little N or Shad Rap #7.

This Bass Fishing report is from Captain Todd Wynn

Line side fishing is good. Its Official this was the best September fishing we have seen in years. And it looks like it's going to carry over into October. The fishing has been Awesome the last few weeks. It's not as good as the summer bite. But for a fall bite it has been incredible. Live bait, top water, Spoons along with trolling is all working right now. If you are in the right place at the right time you can boat 20 plus Stripers, Hybrids, Whites, Spots and catfish in a very short time. Live bait, like thread fin shad is still fishing best on free lines and down lines. But when their busting top water there's nothing that's going to beat a white Jr Fluke. The morning bite has been really good. But the afternoon bite may be better especially if you are chasing the top water action. Trolling has been really good this past week. We are pulling the 4 arm light umbrella rigs loaded with 1/2 ounce buck tails with chartreuse trailers at 3.2 miles an hour a 120 feet behind the boat. Mid lake has been best midday. The top water bite can be great at times. The better bite seems to be at sun up and again at sun down. Some days these schools will stay up and active for an hour. Kind of reminds me of the bite we had in 2008.
