    Bass
Use a Strike King Sexy Dawg walking bait in the morning and late afternoon around grassy areas on a rod that will help the action, I use a medium light action Lews lightweight rod. The medium- light action allows the bait to function like it should and is more forgiving if you overreact to a fish hitting the bait. This will most likely be the easiest time and method to catch bass right now. Throughout the day the Strike Kind series 3 crank bait really did well for me around rocky banks around fallen trees. These crank baits also perform better if used on the right rod, I've always used Lews bait casting and cranking rods for crank baits. I like to use Lews medium action Custom Lite rods and Lews 8 pound line on their lightweight reels to get the most out of the crank baits and top water baits. Using the wrong set up will alter the action of the crank bait or top water baits I've mentioned. The bigger bass have come off the Sexy Shad Strike King Series 6XD's. I use similar Lews products for the deep diving crank baits but I do like to have the higher retrieve Magnesium speed spool on the Lews 7' Custom pro Speed Stick to get the most action and you'll need these quality products to hold up to the wear and tear of these deep diving crank baits.

    Stripers
Striper fishing has slowed down. They will still hit a Strike King KVD popping bait on the surface. If they are not hitting the top water bait well you can switch to a KVD jerk bait and you'll usually have more hook ups.

    Catfish
Over the past few weeks we have caught several catfish drifting cut bait. I hear lever and shad guts are very productive baits as well right now from other catfishermen. While I have been fishing in areas no deeper than 30' I hear a lot of fish are coming out of deeper water.
