LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 1.2 FEET, CLEAR, 70’S


Before the storms the bass fishing was good. Keep an eye out for top water action anytime of the day lake wide. Have the Lucky Craft Pointer 97 and McStick jerk baits ready. Look for any wind blown points and flats. Also a Zoom pearl white Fluke is good for breaking fish on any reef marker or even on the rip rap around the lake on the bridges too. Cruise the points with the Lowrance Structure Scan technology and watch for the bait balls as they roam up in the shallows. Fishing with the drop shot and a shaky head rigs is still working. The bite is still shallow on buzz baits, Zoom trick worms in Methiolate and spinnerbaits. As the water cools, the fish will move deeper to creek ledges. Use a Strike King jig in green pumpkin or a 1/2 ounce Fish Head Spin with a pearl Zoom fluke trailer. Use at least 12 pound Sufix Siege line for this rig.


LOWRANCE TIPS: Set the machine in FULL SCREEN SONAR and PRESS MENU: RESTORE DEFAULTS FIRST. Go through the WIZARD SET UP FIRST. Set the map on HEADING UP and 2D MAPPING.
