  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

    Fishing Friends,

I'm guessing you're wondering about Richland Chambers Fishing and potential Flooding with all the rain and fresh water we've had in Texas the past couple of weeks. The Lake was about two feet low before the rain came. It rose three feet and is now one foot above Pool Level. The Spillway Gates have been open for the past few days and as of this writing are releasing about 20,000 cubic feet per second of water. With the amount of water in the Lakes & Creeks that feed RC, I'm betting the Spillway Gates will be open to some degree for the next month.

Adam and I cancelled our Monday thru Friday trips last week due to rain, cold and wind. Both of us did conduct trips on Saturday and actually caught quite a few White Bass. (See Pics) As I've told many folks, "The fish have to eat" so it was not totally a surprise that we caught fish even with all the fresh water. I know some of you plan a Fall Fishing Trip with hopes of catching Crappie , but I'd be lying if I told you we could expect a normal Fall Crappie Bite. Just too much fresh water, spillway gates open and current too expect anything normal. I DO BELIEVE THE WHITE BASS AND CATFISH WILL BE CATCHABLE! It looks like the upcoming weather will return to a normal Fall forecast with mild temperatures and no major rain events like we've just had. It's time to get outside and enjoy some nice Fall Fishing Time!

We have Weekday Openings in October & November and still have plenty of availability around the upcoming THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS. Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'!
