  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 6.39 FEET, 60S, CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair. This we had been a little bit of a challenging bite. Early morning the fish have been up top. Start off the morning throwing smaller top water baits such as the Pop ’R, Tiny Torpedo’s and small Zara Spooks. As the day goes on look for fish on off shore cover and secondary points anywhere from 10 feet to 30 feet. Look for shad with Fish on them and drop shakey Head, drop shot, and jigs to catch these fish.

This Bass Fishing report is from Captain Todd Wynn

Line sides fishing is good and getting improving. The fall bite is starting to heat up. The north end of the lake is still producing some nice stripers along with good numbers of White bass. The bigger stripers are eating Gizzard shad fished on planer boards and free lines both right at sun up and again at sun down. Look for these fish from Little River up to Fields Landing and as far south as Kellogg’s.
The Hybrids and white bass are really starting to school and blowing up all over the lake right now. We have seen some big schools breaking the surface from the Dam to the S turns. These busting fish will eat almost anything you throw at them. When these fish go down they will still bite thread fins and small gizzards fish on down lines as well as spoons. Bigger bait is the key to catching these bigger fish. Striper Soup has plenty of fresh shad of all sizes in stock. The sea gulls are starting to show up and will make finding the fish a little easier in the upcoming months. Trollers keep pulling your umbrella rigs out to 60 to 120 feet behind the boat at speeds between 2.4 3.1 miles an hour.
