    Fishing Friends,

I was able to get three fishing trips in last week and we enjoyed the almost Springlike weather on each outing. We began our trips in mid morning to avoid the cooler early morning temperatures and by Noon were shedding the jackets and gloves to enjoy the 60 degree temperatures. Guess we better enjoy the weather while we can as February always has some Cold Weather in store for us! The Lake level is just about back to normal and the water temperatures are also about normal for this time of year as they are dipping into the high 40's at night and raising to the low 50's in the afternoon. The stained water conditions from all the recent rains have just about cleared up.

We continue to focus on the Catfish and each trip produced a box full of "Eater" size Blues and Channels. The bite was a little slow compared to earlier Winter trips and we had to really watch the rod or line to know the fish were biting. Even for folks who have fished a lot, the fishing was challenging in regard to getting a good hook set. It didn't seem to matter whether the fish was small or large, the bite was "soft" and difficult to detect. We caught fish in water depths from 10' to 35' feet of water, but our better fish came in the deeper water with our bait fished right on the bottom. We fished in the Crab Creek area in the timber with Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook.

We continue to offer our WINTER SPECIAL RATE thru February and have Weekday openings and one boat still open on Saturday, February. 23rd. Give us a call if you want to get in on the action! 😊
