  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 10.25 FEET, 50S, STAINED

Bass fishing is good. The water fluctuation, rain and stained water keeps the bite changing. The most consistent bite this week has been in the back pockets and creeks. Look for the cleaner water and look for bait on your fish finder. The creeks with deeper creek beds with 20 to 40 feet of water seem to hold more bait. Look for the bass on secondary points, flats and bends of the creek. The bass use these areas as ambush points to catch the shad off guard. Look for cover around these key areas, such as trees, rocks and ridges. The best techniques have been throwing moving baits to cover the water as to eliminate areas that aren’t holding feeding fish. Lipless crankbaits such as rattle traps and red eye shad are excellent baits. Also jerk baits, small swim baits and spinnerbaits have been working. The other go to tactic is fishing slowly on the main lake points and rock walls. Fish a drop shot or shaky head around rocks and clay points. Work the baits slow, it seems to be a better bite with less action in the presentation.

The Allatoona Bass fishing report is by Captain Todd Wynn, Limitless Charters.
