LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 1.89 FEET, CLEAR DOWN STAINED UP RIVERS, 50S

Bass fishing is fair. Wind blown points can hold bass looking for food along with short stretches of red clay banks mixed with chunk rock. The points as well as the banks need to have deep water or a channel that runs close by. The bass are holding in the deeper water for the most part and move in and out on these areas to feed during the day. Even when the bass are holding in ten to fifteen feet of water and more, they will still hit deep diving crank baits like the Rapala DT10 and DT16. Another good choice for this deeper cranking is the new Glass Shad Rap in the number 7 size. They are now starting to appear in stores all over. Good areas to fish this week is the areas from Reed Creek down to Cranes Creek. This is a good place where deep water is real close to the bank and Black and spots are moving up to the shallows to feed all during the day. Stay on the side with the wind if at all possible and when the wind stops blowing, go a little deeper with your plastics. Another great area to check out is at the mouth of Twenty Six Mile Creek. Fish from markers 8 to 18 and make long cast with the Rapala DT10 into shallow water and work them all the way back to the boat.

For those anglers that just love to use deep water jigging spoons, some nice bass along with a variety of other fish are being caught using this method. Find the fish and the structure and have at it. Most fisherman are concentrating their efforts in water anywhere from 25 to 45 feet deep. Downsize your line and tackle for best results.
