Lake Cumberland fishing report for March 3,2019. The water temp is 47 to 50 degrees on the lower end of the lake. Needless to say the water is high on the lake and likely to be high all spring. Surprisingly the lower end of the lake is fishable with not much debris floating. Don’t really know how but it is pretty clear. Maybe the water being this high will put a lot of the floating debris way up on the bank so following years will be better for debris floating.
Fishing was decent this week considering the water level. Caught some decent stripers from surface to 25 feet deep in the murky not muddy water. We also caught some nice largemouth up shallow tight to cover.
As much as I would like to be on the river I do not foresee that happening any time soon. As soon as they turn down the discharge we will be after the trout. One thing about nature is you can not control the weather and no sense in stressing about it just go fishing where ever we can lol.
Thanks and God Bless
