Fishing Friends,
The Dogwoods and Red Buds are blooming, Wild Flowers & Azaleas are popping out, Spring officially arrived this past week and the Crappie are making their move to the shallows. About the only thing from a fishing perspective that isn't happening is that the White Bass are still not back to the Main Lake from their trip up the Creeks to spawn. This past week, the water temperatures hit the magic 60 degree mark so it won't be long until we start fishing for White Bass and Hybrid Stripers. MARCH CAME IN LIKE A LION and if the weather forecast is correct, it will GO OUT LIKE A LION also as strong winds and a Cool Front are predicted for the end of the month. No wonder the fish are acting strange with all the unsettled weather activity.
Oh well....we're still catching Catfish as this past week we managed to get six (6) trips in and had a nice box of Blue & Channel Cats on every outing. It's nice to be able to catch fish year around on RC and we've had a great Winter and early Spring fishing for Cats. The Richland Creek Arm of the Lake has been our "Honey Hole" as we fished the timber in 25' foot of water with Danny Kings Punch Bait to make our catches. We will continue to catch these fish until the fishing gets really good for the other species and then have our choice of several fish to fry! 😊
Here's hoping you have the time to enjoy the beautiful Spring and the Great Outdoors! If we can be of service, give us a call and We'll Go Fishin'!
