  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report

Here's hoping you had as good a Labor Day Holiday Weekend as we did here on Lake Richland Chambers! The Summer of 2013 has been mild compared to some of those we've experienced over the past few years and the small Cool Fronts we've experienced over the past few weeks have got us thinking about the Fall and what's in store for us! Right now the fish are seldom in the same location two days in a row and as a result you will burn some gas trying to find them. But as Fall nears, the White Bass and Hybrid Stripers will become much easier to find and catch! It continues to amaze me how few fishermen we see on RC. Weekdays are extremely quite with only a few boats on our big old lake, and Saturdays and Holidays are easy to fish in the Morning with most of the recreational traffic occurring in the Afternoon. Here's hoping we've seen the last of the 100 degree days and that Fall is on the way!

Here's a few thoughts and ideas as we enter FALL....... MY FAVORITE SEASON OF THE YEAR:

    * FALL is the time of the year to catch not only quantity, but quality fish. In the next few weeks, air and water temps will cool and the fish will go into what I call their FALL FEEDING FRENZY! Your chance of catching a really Big Hybrid and LOTS of White Bass improves as we head into the late September thru December timeframe. For those of you wanting to do some Crappie fishing, we usually find them in late September and October in the Timber and around the Bridge Columns.

*The mornings are crisp, the afternoons are pleasant and it just doesn't get any better than being on the lake. It's the one time of the year when I can truly say that it's not the "Catchin" that the trip is all about. It's just about being outside! Gulls, Pelicans, Ospreys, and even an Eagle or two start to show up on the lake.

*In October, we begin offering Afternoon trips as the comfortable temperatures will be back and the Afternoon fishing will improve dramatically.

*Our Fall Saturdays are filling up fast. All our September and October Saturdays are booked, but we still have November and December Saturday openings. Many of you have also heard me say "November and December are my TWO FAVORITE Months of the Year to Fish!"

*We have LOTS of Weekdays we need to fill in September and October!

*If you want to schedule a Group Trip (Business, Church, Family or Friends, etc.) and want to add a special touch, we begin offering Fish Fry Shore Lunches on Weekday Trips again in the Fall. It's sure FUN to come in from a morning of fishing and let Adam and I do the cooking for you! Fried Fish, Hush Puppies, Fries and all the Trimmings sure taste better in the Outdoors!

Adam and I have had a busy Summer and we appreciate all our Friends that have fished with us this year! If you're wanting to take advantage of the Fall Fishing, give us a call at 903-389-4117 and we'll get your trip scheduled. THANKS and have a Great Day!
