  • I’m a Central Florida native with lifetime of experience fishing the in-shore flats of the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon systems. I also charter in the near-shore coastal waters and inlets, and the inland fresh water lakes and rivers of Central Florida.

    Jack’s Mosquito Lagoon Redfish

Spring is one of my most cherished seasons to fish in Central Florida notwithstanding the windy weather conditions, and thus far the Spring catching has excellent. Over the past few weeks, the fishing has been outstanding in both the freshwater and saltwater arenas with great catches on both.

    Dave's St Johns Reive Crappie

On the St. Johns River we were fortunate to find both the crappie and warmouth perch bunched up in deeper water and eager to take both minnows and lures with the TTI Blakemore Go Go Runner proving to be deadly. Although the schooling largemouth and sunshine bass bite has been slow in our region of the river, we are still havening success throwing DOA Shad Tails in areas of feeding fish. Currently waters levels are on the low side, but our April showers should have water level rising soon putting the big channel catfish on the move.

    Roger’s Mosquito Lagoon Redfish

On the Lagoons my focus has been more about quality than quantity with each of my client returning to the dock after catching the largest fish of their lives. As usual, Mother Nature has dictated where to fish with gusty winds and rough conditions, but we still managed to find and catch both trophy redfish and black drum in deeper protected waters on every charter.

    Glen’s Mosquito Lagoon Black Drum

Currently, the cobia are passing by on the backs of manta rays in our area nearshore, so once the wind and seas settle down the circus is in town. Cobia are a highly prized species to catch, so please be patient at the ramps and courteous on the water and enjoy some of the best nearshore fishing on Florida’s Space Coast.
