  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

We were able to get in four of the six days of fishing this past week as the Spring Winds and T-Storms only kept us off the Lake two days. We fished for White Bass and Hybrids each outing and had a "mixed bag of tricks" as two days were about as easy as it gets and the other two were tough fishing. On Monday , Adam and I both had easy limits of White Bass and were cleaning fish by 10AM and on Friday had a similar experience with an ice chest full of Whites. The other days we had to do a lot of looking to find fish and then when we did, the bite was not an aggressive bite and the fish didn't hang around long. We are still waiting for the large Schools of fish to make their way out of the Creeks and back to the Main Lake. At this time, it appears that a lot of the fish are still doing their spawn up the Creeks. I predict this next week is the week that the fishing "gets easy" and we no longer have to do a lot of hunting and can do more fishing!

If you are planning a trip to RC, I'd recommend checking out the Pelican Island and Old Hwy 287 Roadbed as many of the fish we caught were in these areas. When the fish do come out of the Creeks, the 309 Flats and any of the Main Lake Points will be the places to fish. We're catching our fish on 1 oz. RSR Silver or Chartruse Slabs with a Jig Teaser. We had several nice Hybrids this past week and on Friday one of Adam's Customers landed a 30 lb. Flathead Catfish! You never know when you might hook into the Big One!

Adam and I are now booking May & June trips and have plenty of Weekdays available and a couple of June Saturdays we need to fill. Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin' !
