Fishing Friends,


Adam and I were able to get in almost all our trips last week except mid week when the Monsoons hit and raised the Creek and Lake Water Levels dramatically! Even with all the fresh water, the White Bass and Hybrid Stripers were on a good bite! The Lake Level on Sunday was up almost a foot above Pool Level, 12 of 24 Spillway Gates were open, and the water clarity is stained. We began the week On Monday with the Jordan Family (See Pics) from DFW fishing with us and ended the week with 30 Kiddos and Dads from Scout Troop 520 from Dallas doing their annual Spring Camping and Fishing Trip.


The action has turned on at RC with LOTS of White Bass and Hybrids being caught on the normal locations (Pelican Island, 309 Flats and Old Hwy 287 Roadbed) on 1 oz. RSR Slabs with a Jig Teaser. Fish are in 15'-25' feet of water and chasing large schools of Shad. There are lots of smaller fish mixed in with the Keepers so be careful and throw back the small Hybrid Stripers and Whites so they can grow and be caught again!


While all of our trips last week were for White Bass, the reports of some nice Crappie and Catfish catches continue to come in. It's that time of the year that everything is biting, the weather is nice most days and it's a great time to be on the Lake!
