    Fishing Friends,

The White Bass & Hybrid Striper action really kicked in gear last week on RC as limits of Whites was the norm on each outing. We're also starting to catch lots of undersized Hybrids and an occasional Keeper fish. Remember to look closely at what you're putting in the ice chest as the smaller Hybrids look a lot like the White Bass. (Hybrids have to be 18" long to be considered a Keeper Fish while Whites only have to be 10" long. )

Pelican Island was by far the best location to catch numbers on all our trips and the fish could be found in water depths of 15'-25' feet. We're using an RSR Silver or Chartruse Slab with a Jig Teaser above the Slab. Often times, we're catching two fish at a time.  Other good locations to check out are the 309 Flats, Old Hwy 287 Roadbed and the Longarm Branch Point. Keep an eye out for feeding fish popping shad to the surface and gulls working overhead.

Spring appears to have finally made it here as the weather is starting to warm, the days are pleasant on the water and hopefully Mother Nature slows a bit with all the rainfall. Here's hoping you can get out to enjoy a great time of the year, catch some fish for your fish fry and enjoy family and friends!
