LAKE HARTWELL IS .43 FEET OVER FULL, CLEAR DOWN STAINED UP RIVERS, 70S


Bass fishing is good. The fish are feeding heavily all over the lake. Find the larger shad schools and the bass are feeding on them. The early top water buzz bait bite is still working around the entire lake on any and all types of cover. Try the Jackall Bling and TN70 crankbaits in the creek channels, and the fish are still keying on harder bottoms and stumps. If there is a good wind blowing, try using a jerk bait like a Jackall Squirrel in these same areas to get those very active fish. As we get into summer the bass are feeding and they roam a lot so use the crankbaits like the Jackall Mc60Sr and Tn70 lipless crankbaits. Look for the jig and shaky head worm patterns to start playing a role as the fish start holding tighter to the structure. Down lake in the creeks, ride the docks and old road beds and search. There are still a lot of fish around shallow docks especially those that have brush under or around them. This is when the Lowrance Structure Scan technology can do. Ride in front of the docks and stay out 80 feet. Set the Range to 80 feet and look for the brush and the fish will show up as small dots.
