Looks like Summertime has finally made it here after a really wild and different Spring with lots of Rain, Wind and certainly Cooler Temperatures. This past week the White Bass and Hybrid bite was a little tougher than it has been and we had to fish a little harder to get our box of fish, but on every trip we ended with plenty of fish fry material. Every Summer we normally experience a bit of early morning Top Water action and then find our fish on Points, Humps and Ridges in 20' foot of water or less. The fish move shallow as the Thermocline sets in on the Main Lake. We move up the Creek Channels to find our fish and make a long boat ride most days. Most fishermen don't think about fishing shallow water in the Summer, but that's where the fish and bait are. The oxygen and water temps are what dictates where the bait and fish will be.
After being on the Lake six days a week since March, our calendar opens up in July and August and we have Weekdays we need to fill. The mornings are the only time we conduct trips in the Summer as they are pleasant and we're off the Lake by Midday with a box of fish. Just too hot for us to have an enjoyable trip in the Afternoon. Give us a call and get those Kids on the Lake as Summer goes by so fast and School starts in most of the State in about a month!
