The Big Girls Are Still Chewing! Guntersville always seems to keep one on their toes and this last week was no exception.
Things are changing the bass are changing up their diet plan and are preferring something different then the last couple of months which is fine ( who likes eating the same stuff over and over?) on some days you just have to take what the lake is giving you for that certain time but when conditions get right you can really load the boat with some big ones doing a certain technique.
Fished the Goosepond Open on Sunday and the bass just had a bad attitude about life that day. They would hit the lure so hard and not have a hook in them then you'd catch one where you had to dig it out of the back of its mouth, it was a strange day and we caught fish doing everything just not a lot of them. it was a true junk fishing day.
Did have another personal best caught! Congrats Ted H.
    Water Temps 79-85
Water Clarity some places its 3-4 feet and others not so good
Our fall calendar is filling up, if your looking for a fun time to fish this is a great time to come to the Big G! And for the guys that plan for the upcoming spring, our 2020 calendar is open and have been booking dates already! Send Us An Email

    Heat of the Summer

As always, the hot summer can be very discouraging; not only is it hot but it seems the grass nats can drive you crazy and there are big gapes of time between bites! When it is hot, and the sun is bearing down on you the only thing that takes your mind off the conditions is... read more

    Your Fishing Spot

Sometimes you can just have too many places to fish, too many way points and too many miles of water to travel to get there; don’t try to fish everyone. If you’re not finding fish when that happens you should think about what you have been doing, what type of structure, depth... read more

    No Fishing Today

At the age of 5 through 7 this was my power house! It was 31/2 horsepower outboard Evinrude motor. It had a two-blade propeller that thrust it forward at least 5 to 8 knots. My boat was a 12 foot wooden row boat. Yes, it leaked like a sieve! However, even as a young child,... read more

    Flipping Anyone

If there one thing you can count on in fall fishing on a regular basis is clear water, the reason being is generally we do not see a lot of rain; TVA does not pull much current and the water oxygen level is concentrated in different areas of the lake. As the thickness of the... read more
