  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

I only fished three days last week, but had good action on every outing and had Customers go home with plenty of filets for their fish frys! This time of the year it seems that you have a really good day and then you have to really fish hard and burn a lot of gas to find them on other days. Saturday was a good example of one of the "Really Good Days" as the fishermen in the picture from Belton Texas had their 50 fish limit of White Bass by 9AM and then we caught 25 nice Eater Size Blue & Channel Cats to top off the Ice Chest! We did all this before 10:30AM and were back at Fisherman's Point Marina before it got hot! I like the Easy Days!

We're still finding most of our White Bass up the Richland Creek on Points and Humps in 10'-15' feet of water and catching them on RSR Slabs with a Jig Teaser. The Catfish are often in the same areas as this it where the Shad are and the water conditions are to the liking of the fish. The Thermocline is around 20'-25' feet and fish will be in water depths above this level where the oxygen and temperature is to their liking.

September can be a difficult time to catch fish for those not on the Lake very often. The fish are normally on the move, difficult to find and the bite is sometimes slow. However, if you are on the Lake nearly everyday as we are, we're still able to find the fish and catching becomes a little easier. It's also the time of the year that we fish for White Bass, Catfish and even slip a Crappie Trip in occasionally. Give us a call and We'll Go Catchin'!

    Heat of the Summer

As always, the hot summer can be very discouraging; not only is it hot but it seems the grass nats can drive you crazy and there are big gapes of time between bites! When it is hot, and the sun is bearing down on you the only thing that takes your mind off the conditions is... read more

    Your Fishing Spot

Sometimes you can just have too many places to fish, too many way points and too many miles of water to travel to get there; don’t try to fish everyone. If you’re not finding fish when that happens you should think about what you have been doing, what type of structure, depth... read more

    No Fishing Today

At the age of 5 through 7 this was my power house! It was 31/2 horsepower outboard Evinrude motor. It had a two-blade propeller that thrust it forward at least 5 to 8 knots. My boat was a 12 foot wooden row boat. Yes, it leaked like a sieve! However, even as a young child,... read more

    Flipping Anyone

If there one thing you can count on in fall fishing on a regular basis is clear water, the reason being is generally we do not see a lot of rain; TVA does not pull much current and the water oxygen level is concentrated in different areas of the lake. As the thickness of the... read more
