  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

    Fishing Friends,

Last week was a typical Fall Week with a couple of Windy, Cool and Rainy days and also three or four days that were absolutely beautiful and made for Fishing! We were able to entertain Customers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and had GREAT TRIPS with lots of Catfish caught on every outing. By far the most FUN Trip was on Tuesday when the Taylor Family consisting of Dad and four young Sons (See Pics) met me at 10 AM for their fishing trip. Adam and I have not been fishing any late morning/early afternoon trips so I was a little concerned about getting a good bite during the mid day period. My concerns quickly vanished as we had the first fish in the ice chest about five minutes after we arrived at the fishing hole! We had three hours of non-stop action before the fishing slowed. But by then, we had a box full of Catfish, everyone had caught, kept and released fish the entire trip and were exhausted from all the fishing (and laughter). The boys aged five to thirteen were good little fisherman and kept Dad and I busy the entire time. It was GREAT to be on the Lake with a Family that was able to get away from the City for a day, enjoy the Outdoors and have so much FUN!

No surprise as to where we were fishing as the Catfish are already at their Winter Home in the timber up the Richland Creek Arm of the Lake. Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook is the key to success. Last week we caught fish in water as shallow as 10' and as deep as 25'. These fish will be in the Richland Creek Timber the remainder of the Fall and all Winter and pretty easy to catch most days. If you do decide to try and locate them, be careful as the Lake Level is now over 3' low and there's lots of tree tops and stumps that can cause some serious damage to a boat and/or motor. Better yet, give us a call and let us take you out, show you how and fill the ice chest with fish!

Here's hoping you get to enjoy some of this beautiful Fall weather!
