LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 12.6 FEET CLEAR, 50S

Bass fishing is fair. There are not a lot of boats out there so take advantage of the warming afternoons. Any rock formations can hold bait and spots so think Shad Raps. Cover a lot of water and watch the Fish and Game Forecaster to fish when the feeding times reflect more movement. Take the spoons and use the 83 kHz Lowrance Sonar frequency to see the fish with a bigger cone angle. Once they show up on the sonar, use the split screen and use sonar and down scan on the same panel. On the down scan zoom in and you can actually see the fish dead on the bottom. Down scan technology by Lowrance can spot these fish as they will be right on the bottom. Set the down scan on auto depth on both down scan and add a panel with sonar on the other also in auto depth. The jig head bite and the Weedless Wonder lead heads can get the baits to the fish. With the weather being up and down be prepared to adjust day by day.

Line side fishing is great. The winter bite is here. The birds show up at Thanksgiving and are a big help finding busting fish. The north end of the lake is the hot spot right now. The most consistent bite right now is a Flex it spoon. Followed by live bait fished one turned off the bottom as well as a weighted free lines. Fish mid lake around duck hole and Clear Creek. But these fish are up in the water column and are earlier to catch on a weighted free line as well as boards. These fish will also take an umbrella rig as well as a full size rig. The south end of the lake is also producing. There isn't as much activity on the south end as the north end. But that goes for anglers as well. There are days on the south end of the lake that we never see another boat. Trolling has been working extremely well on the south end. A full size umbrella rig has been my go to technique on the south end to start my day. Once we locate a good school of fish I'll switch over to live bait and put out a complete spread. The bite right now is one of the most consistent bites I have seen in winter in years. Call and book your outing today 770 827 6282. We also have Gift Certificates available as well.
