Even though I've been fishing all my life and it's been my profession for the past 20 years as a Fishing Guide on Richland Chambers, I still get EXCITED about the change of the Seasons. I have to admit that Fall is still my favorite time of the year, but Spring is a very close second 🙂! It sure appears to me that we're in for an early Spring with Plum and Tulip Trees already blooming, the grass greening up and the White Bass up the Creeks doing their annual Spawn. The past few days have felt Springlike with temperatures in the 70's and that "feel in the air" that only comes with the change of the Season as we move from the really cold mornings to the mornings where a Hoodie and Jeans is all you need. As we all know, this can change on a dime, but I'm betting we're in for an Awesome March to get the Fishing Season kicked in gear!
As of right now, we're still fishing almost exclusively for Catfish, but when the White Bass turn on, we'll offer up trips for either Cats or Whites & Hybrid Stripers. The Catfish were our target on Friday & Saturday of this past week with a slow bite one day and a very aggressive bite the next. My three Customers had to fish hard for a 47 fish catch on the Chilly & Calm Friday and then my twosome easily had a 50 fish limit (See Pics) on the Warm & Breezy Saturday. Spring is often like this as you can look like a Hero one day and then be very Humble the next! However, if you hang in there, RC usually send you home with plenty of Fish Fry material!
Spring Break in the Schools signal the start of our BUSY SEASON and it's right on us! We still have a few Weekdays open in March and even one boat open on Saturday, March 14th. Give us a call or email and We'll Go Fishin!
