Guntersville Fishing ...... Its been well.... strange. Seems like it has taken forever and a day for the fish to get to the banks. Yes there has been some to already spawn but the lake seems backwards normally the upper end the bass are more advance in their spring migration then the lower end, well it seems that the lower end the creeks have been way ahead ( I think it was due to the high current this winter) it pushed them in from the river and they felt the warming temps along with the longer days they just started doing their thing. And for the upper end the fish seem to handle the current better since thats more of a river up there, I think it just happen as it should when it started warming up they started moving in and the fish that was getting caught early on they was resident fish. And now that we have had some warm weather the fish have shown some movement just in time for the cooler weather in the forecast ( go figure we can't just have a normal spring ) hope it doesn't hurt any of the eggs that have been laid already.
So Big Bass! Yea I'm a little shocked that we have not been seeing any more then what we have, are they getting wiser to the fishing pressure ( like big bucks ) do they go nocturnal? Or are they the ones that stayed out by the river and just hunkered down in a current breaks waiting for the river water to warm up to make their move?
We fished about every day the last two-weeks and just when you get a good feel on whats going on and you take it to a different area of the lake you get smacked in the face with a nice try buddy. Things are still changing on the day and area of the lake.
The typical Guntersville spring soft plastic dragon bite has been decent some days you'd get a little topwater a little spinnerbait a little swim jig but its just not hot like where you should be able to catching them doing pretty much what you like. For having such a warm winter the fishing seems to be a little behind, I am guessing next week things could shape up as long as the nights do not dip to low and cool the lake temp down.
Water temps 65-72 Clarity 2 feet in most areas
    Heres some pics
