  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

    Fishing Friends,

I've heard the term "Surreal" used a lot by folks to attempt to describe their current feelings or situation involving the Coronavirus. I guess that's as good as any description but in my case it's kinda like a Bad Movie that you know the ending but have to go through a lot of bad acting and repeating of scenes to get to the end. We will endure a lot of what's going on for the next few weeks or maybe even months but not without some pain along the way and in the end, I like many others have already expressed, expect to come out even stronger as a Person, Family and Nation!

The last couple of weeks have been different for everyone and Adam and I are no exception. Adam has now become a Teacher and Principal each day as his three Kiddos are home and doing School via the Computer. His Wife (Brooke) is in the Medical Profession and as you'd expect is keeping busy. I made the decision a couple of weeks ago to try and continue to fish as long as we had Customers calling and I stayed healthy. I reversed that decision about a week ago and while most Customers have called and cancelled their fishing trips over the past couple of weeks, I cancelled those that didn't. We have still not seen or heard of any reported cases of the Virus in the two Counties the Lake is in (Freestone & Navarro) but several towns including Corsicana have implemented "Shelter In Place". We live in Whitehouse in Smith County and the "Stay At Home" measure has just started. My routine for the past 20 years of fishing six days a week in the Spring is now a little different but will hopefully be back to normal soon. 🙂

We're going to continue to reserve fishing dates for Folks in the Spring and Summer and make decisions as to postpone or cancel a week in advance of a fishing date. I will be contacting you if you have a trip in the next week. We feel strongly that we need to support Local Health Department and Government Recommendations and if that means not fishing for awhile longer, that's fine. I am very sorry if we disappoint Customers with our decision but we believe it's the right thing to do.

If you have questions, want to set a Fishing Date or just want to talk a little fishing, give me a call on my Cell at 469-371-5197. Stay well and hope to see you very soon!
