  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

    Fishing Friends,

I broke the "Stay At Home" recommendation on Wednesday of this past week and went to the Lake House to do a little work on equipment and boats. What a nice Spring day to be outside so I took the opportunity to wash and clean both Adam's and my boat. They really needed it as the last trips we conducted were several weeks ago and the pollen, leaves and dust had really accumulated on them! We house two of the three boats underneath a metal shed and the third boat has a cover. Still, the dirt and dust seems to find them pretty easily. They're ready to go now and I'm ready to get them "fishy" again! 🙂 Next week's work day will be dedicated to Rods/Reels, Baits, and getting everything ready to catch that Big One!

I've got a couple of friends who live at the Lake and their reports are driving me crazy as the Big Hybrids along with awesome amounts of White Bass are being caught now! If you're planning a trip anytime soon, the action is best on the 309 Flats early in the AM and then on Pelican Island and the Old 287 Roadbed just about anytime during the day! Watch for the Terns ( and for Boats as apparently a lot of folks have been fishing on the nice days) and the Gulls as they will point you to the feeding fish. Tie on a Sassy Shad for the Hybrids and a 1oz. Silver or Chartruese Slab for the Sandies!

We will continue to honor the "Stay At Home" recommendation until it is lifted and then hopefully be back on the Lake. It all depends on our ability to offer our Customers a safe and fun trip. The majority of the fishing trips we conduct are with folks who come from different locations, meet up at the Marina and then share a boat. We will normally have three or four fishermen and the guide on a boat and in close quarters. It's a bit difficult to effectively do "Social Distancing". Also, most fishermen are from the hardest hit areas of the State (Dallas, Ft. Worth and Houston). We do not want to in any way contribute to the spread of the Virus or expose a Customer, Friend, or Family to it!

Because we have postponed or cancelled almost 100 trips in March and April, our Spring calendar going forward is pretty full. We do have a handful of openings in May and LOTS of June available dates. Give us a call or email to get on the calendar and We'll Go Fishin'!

Stay Safe and Hope to See You Soon!
