It was soooo good to get back on the Lake after "Staying At Home" for the past month! Longtime Customers and Friends (See Pics) joined me for five fishing trips this past week and we loaded the ice chest on everyone of them! The White Bass action ranged from fair to excellent depending on the day and conditions but all were enjoyed by the folks who like me had been cooped up at home due to the Covid 19! Cool crisp early mornings and pleasant days were the norm and it was a reminder of how great Spring can be!
Richland Chambers is at full pool level, water temperature is in the high 60's and water clarity is good. The White Bass have almost completed their spawn and are being caught on the Main Lake Points and Humps on 1 oz. Silver or Chartruse Slabs. Best areas have varied from day to day but include the 309 Flats, Pelican Island, and the old Hwy 287 Roadbed. The fish are on the move and you may catch them in one place one day and they are in a completely different location and depth the next. Follow the bait and the Birds and you'll find the fish! We're finding a few Hybrid Stripers mixed in with the White Bass with the best action early AM on the Flats using a Sassy Shad. The White Bass and Hybrid action should be as good or better as we move more into Spring and the weather conditions stabilize a bit more! 🙂
Here's hoping you can get on the water and enjoy some great action in the Spring of 2020! Stay safe, have fun and give us a call if we can be of Service!
