  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

After the past couple of Spring months of easy fishing and most often limits of White Bass on all our trips, I guess it was my time to be humbled! Adam and I did start the week on Monday with a good day and our seven Customers caught and we cleaned over 150 fish. However, the week got tough after this with strong Winds causing us to cancel Tuesday and Wednesday, and then I fished the remainder of the week on calm, hot and tough days. Our Customers are great and we had a good time on the Lake, but our catches were 35 fish on Thursday, 38 fish on Friday and 43 fish on Saturday. I often call a period of tough days like this in the early Summer the "Transition" period as we move from Spring to Summer and from an almost 100% Slab Bite to a mix of Top Water and Slab Fish. The good news is that fishing and especially the Top Water action will improve as we move into the hotter Summer months! 🙂

Check out the Pelican Island and South Shoreline areas for early AM School Fish and then move up the Creek Channels fishing Points and Humps in water depths from 15'-20' feet of water. As mentioned the Top Water bite is about to really kick in gear and when it does, you will find literally acres of fish feeding on small Shad in the Main Lake area in 50' feet of water. Get ready as the time is near!

If you're looking for an excuse to get out of the house & spend some time with Kiddos or Grandkids, give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'! The mornings are pleasant and we're always off the Lake by Noon when the heat turns on. We clean and bag your catch while you enjoy a Hamburger at Fisherman Point Marina's Lighthouse Café. It doesn't get much better than this on a Summer Day! 🙂

    Have a Great Day!
