Lake cumberland fishing report for Sept 17,2020.

The fall fishing patterns are slowly becoming evident with surface water temps around 80.
The Stripers are on the main lake and major creeks from 40 to 70 ft. Most are being caught close to the bottom with down lines but still a few are being caught on planer boards. Alewife herring are not living on the hook over 15 to 20 mins so it makes No sense to put out a big spread when they die so fast. No sense in dragging around dead Shad and you can only carry so many Shad in your tank so down lining with fewer rods so you can keep them fresh makes more sense.

Crappie are still being caught at night under lights up the creeks at night.
Bass are still busting the surface early and late on secondary points. Catfish have been active also on Shad or minnows fished close to the bottom.
It looks to be a great fall season ahead of us.

    God bless
