  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

There's a couple of times a year when fishing gets a bit tougher and you just never know what to expect as you're leaving the Marina Dock! Well, it's that time of year now as we near the middle of Summer and the days all seem to be about the same weather wise....Warm, Dry and hopefully a Nice Breeze to keep us comfortable on a Morning Fishing Trip! Some mornings we have really great White Bass Top Water Schooling action like we had a couple of days last week and other days you never see a fish bust the surface. On those same days you might find really aggressive fish feeding on Shad on the Humps and Points & catch them like crazy on Slabs like we did for four days last week. On other days like Saturday you wonder where all the big Whites went as they're no where near where they were for the past couple of days! I can't explain why fish are easy to find and catch one day and tougher than nails the next this time of year, but it's been about the same for the past 20 years of Guiding on Richland Chambers. I tell the fishermen who call and ask about how the fishing is the truth and that it's hit and miss! Customers ask "Should we go fishing or when is the best time to go fishing?" and my stock answer is "The best time to go fishing is whenever you can!" 🙂

The rest of the story about last week's fishing is that we had three days of catching limits of fish, two days of only get a box full and one day when we caught huge quantities of small fish but only had 83 Keeper fish for a two boat family trip. We didn't find fish in lots of the regular locations and had to burn some gas and fish longer than usual on a couple of trips. What we did do is have FUN on all six trips last week and in the end that's the most important aspect of going fishing! (See Pics)

Have Fun, Have a Great Day and Let's Go Fishin'!
