Weather looks like it is finally getting to where we should be.
I wonder if the cold snap will be too much too quick.......
Oh Well. I'm still going. :p:p:p:p:p:p

Builds character. :)
If it were me, I'd be after brown fish with the weather changes.

Yea, Maybe.........I just don't know if I have enough brown fish spots that will make that worth it.
I have some South Barkley spots I will be hitting Friday morning.........
Hey, it is better than working :) .
Don't mean to hijack but heading to Cave run for the weekend and not looking forward to the weather either. Sleeping in a tent too all weekend. All for my first toothy fish!! Good luck to all u fellas that brave the cold!!
Just come back from Blood river area of Ky lake Sunday. Crappie was doing very well. I was piddling fishing for both crappie and bass. Had wife with me so a little time on lake and lot of time with wife doing tourist things. Most of the bass I caught were smallmouths albeit small ones. I caught them on flats and around the crappie attractors. Water temp last week got down to 67 degrees in the mornings but rebounded to 70 by the afternoon. Even caught some sauger and of course, the occasional drum.

LOL! True however where I go and stay it’s just like a second home. I don’t have the feeling of being a tourist. It’s when I have to leave the water and travel to the local must eat at restaurant or take the wife downtown Paducah shopping etc etc. I want to fish but I GOT to please the boss. Actually, I want to. She has never said anything about all the trips I take or the time and money........I love her!
Fished Barkley Friday-SUnday last week, it was tough but developed a pattern for smallies. Ended up with a half dozen 3-4 lbs smallies and some dinks. Partner and I caught two largemouth back to back that went 3-4lbs in a flurry, but a majority was smallmouth on main lake points where the creek channel swung through...esp. when skipjack were moving in the morning.
Well.............THAT was painful.
Probably one of the worse fishing trips in a decade :) :) .
Very hard to find fish. We caught some white bass, and some drum, but not many largemouth or smallmouth.
I did manage to catch a purty 2lb smallie on a red eye shad, but other than that, we caught very few fish.
Later,
Geo
