$50.00 to $75.00 a horsepower when you get up that big
all depends onow you fiix it but if you rebuild that block probably around 4-5,000.
if you buy a factory powerhead probaly around the 8,000 range.go to bassboat central to the yamaha board there are guys there that can tell you about to the dollar.... etecs blow too.:)
I just blew my HPDI 225. I got several quotes. You can go through jasperengines.com and get a new powerhead for 3600.00 and pay someone to put it on. It comes with a year warranty. The problem I have is that I heard its the same problem with the new series2 and 1 HPDI. My top right 2 cylinders leaned out. It seems if this is a major problem with yamaha they should come up with a fix. They wouldnt help me with any parts to fix it. I know this is the last yamaha I will own.
Thats the first motor that I blew was an etec. Then yamaha. Now I will try a Mercury.
