Early March trip to guntersville need info
I will be visiting Guntersville, for the first time, in the first week of march. What part of the lake and what patterns produce best that time of year? Also would like to buy a good map of the lake and some info on lake levels. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Buy an "Atlantic" map. They have color coded depth contours which will show you the areas with weeds (BLUE). I would stay in the mid-lake area of Goose Pond Colony. Goose Pond Colony has cabins on the water or Woody's Lodge has cabins near the water. There are a few motels in Scottsboro that accomodate fishermen too. Throw 'traps, suspending jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and jig 'n pig. It's a great time of year for big bass. At least a half dozen bass over 10 pounds have been caught already this year.

I am also planning a trip to Guntersville this march. We are going down the last week of that month. I got an Atlantic map from the TVA website "map store". $11.50 including postage. There is avery good web site you may want to check out. WWW.fishinglakeguntersville.com. I e-mailed the webmaster and he's been very helpful.
