Danger...helms landing!!!

Drove down the am to check out the river and almost lost my SUV in a HUDGE SINK HOLE, right in the middle of the road!:eek:! Macho thanks to who ever it was that put a couple of tree branches in the hole, for had I not seen them....don't even want to go there:eek::eek: . Sink hole is in the middle of the road as you head down toward the ramp. About 3-4 feet wide and at least 4 feet deep. CAUTION? Could have driven around the left side of the hole, but not sure what was underneath the roadway, another part of the same hole, which might give way and "there goes you ride"!

So, if your going to Helms, consider parking up on the top of the hill and walk down. Not sure who has responsibility to repair the road, county, etc, but suspect it may be a while.:D:D:D

Thanks for posting this. Hope someone will post when the hole gets fixed. Meanwhile, everyone needs to stay away. But with the high water coming through the dam, most people would anyway.
