Re: Thinks these will work?
Well tested them out this afyternoon on a pond. Got to bites, but both times as the fly was sinking after my cast. Missed both fish. No bites for about an hour and then another bite as the fly was dropping. My buddy was there spin fishing and had a full tackle box so I improvised. Took a bobber and put it about 2 feet up my leader. basically fished a float n fly using a size 4 Clouser minnw. Proceeded to catch three largemouth in a five minute stretch. Ended up salvaging the day and learned a little. Looks like I will take some bobbers with me to Dale in order to work my fly in ths strike zone. Oops, we don't call them bobbers....I will take some rather large strike indicators to Dale Hollow!:D
Re: Thinks these will work?
They make some nice oblong inline foam strike indicators that are a bit easier to cast than the average bobber. Cheap too.
Re: Thinks these will work?
Yeah, I will probably get a few before we go. Talk about graceful, casting a Clouser and bobber together, didn't actually look that bad, but you should hear the sound the line puts off! :D

Re: Thinks these will work?
Majestic describes it perfectly Sir.
Re: Thinks these will work?
It was definitely majestic, casting weighted flies with a bluegill bobber while avoiding steipping in cow crap! It definitely was not the fishing you see in the magazines from the Rocky Mountains!:D
Re: Thinks these will work?
HAHA! I bet not....hey, whatever catches 'em! :D

Re: Thinks these will work?
Well they work! Caught some nice smallies and spots on them at Dale! Now if we could do away with all this rain I would like to fish some water that actually moves!
