Cumberland River Below Wolf Creek Dam
New to the site here... Was planning on going to fish the Cumberland River in a few weeks, and noticed some "buzz" about the dam work. I haven't been to this area for a few years and last time I went was in the fall; had a great time, beautiful scenery and caught some decent trout. So, was wondering how the river was in relation to normal late summer levels, fishing conditions etc.. The last time I went the level was perfect for wading, and the water clarity was really good, was hoping to see the same situation. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
Re: Cumberland River Below Wolf Creek Dam
C lake has come up and the CFS has it to high to wade. Rivers running about 8 ft. last time I checked. leave your waders home and take a boat.

Coombro is right. In addition, the water will be slightly stained while the sluice gates are open.

Check out the website by following the link below. Others can chime in but I feel that the discharge rate needs to be in the 2000-2050 range for wading. However, I haven't waded the river in years so I would be interested if some other folks have a different discharge rate in mind for ideal wading conditions.

The # for the dam: (270)-343-0153
Tells you lake & river levels. Plus generation schedule for that day.
